  Carrie Jane was 16 years older than her brother George Robert Curtiss. Aunt Carrie had three children--Mabel, Louise and Jay Randolph. Mabel died early of TB. Louise married Will Breeding. See Aunt Dorothy's story (page 4). (Dorothy Curtiss Klus) Carrie was one of the last remnants of austere, straight-lced aristocracy. She sang alto solo in the Baptist Church of South Have. She was thin, tall gray-haired, dressed in purple velvet and a plumed purple hat. (source: Aunt Dorothy) They were hard-shelled Baptists. She thought rest of family would go to bad place because they were all Congregationilists.
