Aunt Dorothy was furious (and the rest of the family thought Dorothy's attitude was awful). She wouldn't attend Mary Jean's wedding, and Uncle George (Sallys father) gave her away. Grandma and Grandpa Curtiss were there; and our family would have been there if it had been possible. We all loved Mary Jean, and my mother was wonderful to her.

  Mary Jean Doyle was Aunt Dorothy’s first child. M.J. and Nancy were very close cousins. In later years she preferred to be called Jean. Mary Jean's father was killed in an automobile accident when she was three years old. She was then sent to Catholic boarding schools, as her father's family was Catholic.She never got along with her mother very well, as Aunt Dorothy was always critical of her. Aunt Dorothy was furious (and the rest of the family thought Dorothy’s attitude was awful) that MJ became Catholic. She wouldn’t attend Mary Jean’s wedding, and Uncle George (Sally’s father) gave her away. Grandma and Grandpa Curtiss were there; and our family would have ben there if it had been possible. We all loved Mary Jean, and my mother was wonderful to her. Mary Jean died on her mother's 96th birthday. Was in the hospital in Valparaiso The Funeral Home was Ott/Haverstock in Michigan City. Her funeral was in Notre Dame Church in Michigan City. Burial Place: Swan Lake Memorial Garden, Michigan City, Indiana. Mary Jean was Curt Klus’ half-sister Mary Jean was Nancy’s first cousin She was Suzie, Peter & Cindy’s 1st cousin once removed She Kari, Courtney, Jason, Ashley, Alex’s 1st cousin twice removed Mary Jean was Andy Miller's 4th cousin twice removed.
